Apple News
There’s been quite a bit of news in the last week or so from Apple. Here’s some highlights to check out if your head has been buried in the sand:
Unlimited iTunes

According to various websites, iTunes is in talks with major record labels to offer an unlimited downloads plan of some sort. Now, this isn’t something new at all. Rhapsody, Napster and who knows what else have been doing this for a very long time - but none of them have the same size library as iTunes. No one is sure on the cost, or what exactly it’ll include.. But either way this is a step in the right direction.
P.S. Want a laugh? Search for Unlimited iTunes on Google and check out an April Fool’s post from last year.
Safari for Windows
Apple has released Safari 3.1 for Windows. Apple claims that Safari is the world’s fastest browser, even beating out the latest Firefox 3 betas. Some people aren’t so sure, however, claiming that like many other manufacturers of both hardware and software that Apple has optimized it specifically to beat the industry standard (and Apple’s own) tests. I’m waiting for more 3rd party tests before believing it, but I’m definitely going to check it out at least.
The graphic sure makes it look good.. but who knows how truly accurate it is. Oh well, it is worth checking out at least, although I don’t know if I could ever leave Firefox and all of the beautiful extensions behind.

iPhone Web Use
Everyone has seen the stories lately about the iPhone’s web use. Google reports that it saw a massive surge of searching to its mobile portal from Apple devices, and many other places have been experiencing the same. It looks like Apple users browse the web far more than other cell phones.
You can see the data usage is way up there over other phones. One interesting fact is that the iPhone demographic is virtually the exact same as BlackBerry users, yet those with iPhones are far more likely to use them for multimedia purposes and web surfing.
