OneTrip.org Provides a Handy Way to Organize Your Shopping Trip

The aptly named onetrip.org is the home of a new web app designed to help you with your weekly/daily/monthly/whatever shopping list.

OneStop.org

It is a rather simple interface that is easy to use. Big color coded bars help differentiate different types of items. As you do your shopping you just tab them and the color fades, leaving the un-grabbed items brightly lit so you can make the easy distinction.

One disappointment is the way it handles item names. You can choose Drinks->Soda, but nothing specific. So if you’re forgetful like me, when I run to the store to buy Diet Chocolate Cherry Dr. Pepper for myself, Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper for my pet Ocotopus and Diet Berries & Cream Dr. Pepper for my crazy neighbor so he doesn’t kill me, and then I look down and all I see is ‘Soda’ on my list, I forget the Diet Berries & Cream Dr. Pepper. And then what happens? I’m dead. Sad face.

To prevent me from forgetting the Diet Berries & Cream Dr. Pepper, resulting in me getting killed by my neighbor, I can choose to add an item manual from the Type It In feature, which is the saved for you in the Saved List for future use. The only problem is then your custom items don’t appear in the proper area, only under the Save List.

Even with these shortcomings, and your possible death-by-crazy-neighbor, it is still pretty darn useful. It is easier to use and read than the notes application built into the iPhone. Check it out at onetrip.org
