Review: PPC6700/XV6700 - Seidio Two-Tone Leather Case
Review originally posted on the pdaphonehome.com forums:
I have always been a fan of my OEM belt clip, liking it more than any of the other cases I’ve seen, and this case so far is a perfect step up from it.
I have tried it both with and without my extended batteries (both companies’ Lion/Mugen + Seidio) and a regular battery. The regular battery is a little loose, but not even loose enough to rattle around or anything. Even with the non-extended battery it fits it very nicely, and it is still awesome protection.
The other thing I’ve noticed just briefly is that there is less chance of the phone sliding into a partially open position. With the OEM belt clip if I sat down in a car seat or whatever it would often get pushed partially open and the phone would turn on. So far with the Seidio case it looks like this is less of a problem.
Someone in a thread on pdaphonehome.com brought up the issue of magnets turning the phone on like in some of the other belt clips we’ve seen, and this definitely isn’t the case with this one. I took the magnets and ran them basically right over the phone and it never so much as twitched, and I took it out and put it back in repeatedly and never had the magnets turn the phone on. (For those of you that don’t know, the phone ‘knows’ the keyboard is open because of a pair of magnets inside it, some cases were made with magnets that were too strong and caused the phone to think the keyboard was open - and it would then turn itself on). Also, the way the clasp and magnets are setup makes it far far easier to close than the OEM clip is.
So far I’m lovin it.
